NEW	A new page called "Schedules" is now in every aquarium present. It shows all local schedules of an aquarium, a feature missed by some users. The local schedules of an aquarium can be edited also from here. The schedule manager now shows if a schedule is editable or not.
FIXED	An error while editing the light values in the plants database is fixed. Improvements in memory management of the images greatly improves memory usage. When an item was moved from one tank to an other aquarix created an expense entry in the target tank, which was wrong. This is fixed. When adding items or deleting items one can now give the date for the event which is then created. This allows the user to add fish later on instead of only on the date of purchase. Images of added or deleted animals and plants are now always added to the event entries. While viewing the statistics graphic some users had errors because of too few system resources. We changed the memory handling and could reach a big improvement here: No memory errors should come up now, regardless of how large the stats area is, also very large zoom values are possible now.

FIXED	An error while saving newly created files is fixed. The backup files which are created while saving files are now left on the harddisk in the aquarix folder. The files have the extension .bak.

NEW	Some users reported data loss when saving files on USB-Sticks or memory cards. To make this more secure we changed the saving procedure: At first the program creates a backup of the original data in a temporary folder using a temporary file name. Then the data is saved in the original file. After saving this file is opened internally to see if everything is readable. If this is OK, the old data is deleted. If it was not OK, the file is deleted and the backup file is restored, containing the data as it was before the saving. This procedure ensures 100% data security. Aquarix 4.11 also creates a log file containing all messages created during saving of a file, the logfile is savelog.txt in the aquarix folder. Please note that you log off memory cards or USB stick before you pull them out, Windows uses a write cache on these devices, if you pull them out without flushing this cache you will loose your data! We recommend making frequent backups of your precious data, only if you have a backup on an other media than your harddisk you can restore data in case of a defective harddisk, stolen computer or a destroyed partition.
FIXED	The end-date of the statistics graph was not saved correctly. On some computers the stats page needed to be opened twice to show a graph. A new data export module was added to export the table data. The old module had many internal errors which also caused a frequent exception in the software. We changed the manufacturer, the new module has now many more formats to export to as well as better control over the export procedure. Some minor bugs were removed, one was in the matfilter calculator (division by zero error). The button "Import from database" in the fish- and invert entry dialog was without function, we fixed that.

FIXED	Granting Access rights for normal users under windows 200 and XP works better now. Our tests showed no more problems. All those who work as normal user and not as administrator can now also use Aquarix 4 Updates of a cdrom version now better recognize the installed cdrom. The schedule reminder dialog is changed All reports changed to the size DIN A4, also added a larger border. Appliance numbers in the aquarium-data-report now start with "1". Saving of files changed to a new sequence: First a file is copied to a backup file, the new data is then written to the original file. If this was successful, the backup file is deleted. If not, the backup file is restored. This prevents data loss due to write errors. In earlier versions the new data was written in a temp-file, which was then renamed to the original filename. The old sequence resulted in a loss of access rights in windows 2000 or XP. After an admin saved a file the normal users did not have access to that file.

NEW	Access rights system for use in windows 2000 or XP. Non-Admin users can gain access to aquarix 4 when the admin grants them access. This new item can be found in the settings dialog. Error management module is added, this sends us an email with error information when an exception occurs in the software.
FIXED	The schedule manager showed some schedules twice, this is fixed. Temperature and Hardness values were not correctly calculates in the data table if US-units was selected When importing data from the databases temperature values were not imported correctzly if US-units was selected The calculation of schedules failed when a single filter or a single pump was added with schedules calculated switched on. The time for the est. date of a tank was fixed to 17:15, this is fixed now. Number of pumps, filters lights etc. now start with "1" instead of "0"

Version:	Aquarix 4.05 - Bugfix (28 January 2004)
NEW	Printing an event-report is now possible. The database windows can now be changed in size, the size is saved. Calculating care schedules is now switched on by default when creating new tanks. Column widths in the event list are now saved. A backup module was added, in the file menu. This module saves all data in a zip-file, from where it can be easily restored. The menu with the last opened files was now moved to a submenu in the file menu.
FIXED	An error when moving items from a tank to an already open target tank is fixed. This happened only on certain computers. Error on double showing schedules when the installation path was added to the searchpaths in the settngs is fixed. Index-Error when adding events for filters or pumps when no filters or pumps are available in a tank is fixed. Minimum and maximum values in the measurement settings are changed, this is only visible in a new installation. Errror in the calculation of the water usage, R/O water was added to the total amount, which is wrong since it is part of the total water amount which is changed in a waterchange. Income and expenses which have an unknown account are now also visible in the cost analysis

FIXED	The "Thread error 161" on some windows 95/98 machines is fixed. The viewing of data of animals and plants as well as the event data is now approx. 3 times faster. The volume calculator created wrong tank volumes when units were set to imperial units (Inches and Gallons)

NEW	If aquarix is started with the parameter -t it shows the pending schedules. After closing the dialog aquarix exits. If aquarix is started with the parameter -s it shows the pending schedules. After closing the dialog aquarix runs normal If a filename is given as parameter aquarix opens the file on startup (enabling the feature that you can doubleclick a filename in the explorer to start aquarix with the file, we definitely forgot to add this standard feature) Images can now be scaled to the maximum possible, smaller images get enlarged, larger images show smaller to see the whole image. There is a new checkbox for switching this on in the settings. This feature is available for all images, also in the databases. Help buttons on the aquariumdata, animals& plants and events-pages show the direct help for these pages.
FIXED	The connection to an image in the databases was lost if a record was edited without choosing a new image. The email link in the version dialog was wrong If data was imported from the database into a tank the values for pH and Temp were interchanged. German words in the data templates are now translated An error in the translation file of 4.01 showed some dialogs (CO2-calculator, income entry etc) in German. Sorting of the database lists is now much faster Visibility of images is now improved An error in the calculation of the running costs resulted sometimes in ignoring the current day. Now the data of the current day is also used for calculating the running costs The Setting to calculate the costs for a R/O unit is now saved, this was not saved on closing the settings dialog. FIXED	Updated the plant database, some fields were read-only, we added fields for "Suitable for cichlids" and "Grows also emers". The wizard for importing old settings can be started manually now, see the file menu (close all tanks first). This wizard now also imports all images and databases of the old version. New records in the plant database lost their images, this is fixed. Since 4.0.1.7: On some computers the update service saved the update file in a wrong directory which resulted in error finding the updatefile. This is corrected.

Aquarix 4 - New release

New design, XP-look Complete new database technology, allowing more data to be entered but does not need any drivers or db-engines. Animals and plants are now entered as "species with stock", a new design which is only avaliable in aquarix 4 and allows to have different animals or groups seperated. You have a species which has unlimited stock entries, one entry for every group. This allows to keep the prices and ages of the groups separated. So if you buy new fish of the same species or have some juveniles, just add a new stock entry for the species without having to mess up the data of the old fish. No limits for accounts, events or images, you can even add many images to one fish or the aquarium, as well as to events to documents them. New event templates allow to enter an unlimited number of events which can be entered in every aquarium. Icons for events can also be added very easy thrugh our new image management. Income and expenses for every single aquarium, with an account system allowing for easy analysis. Costanalysis for running costs, expenses and income. Very sophisticated schedule management for all waterchanges, cleaning- and careevents. New Statistics graph, allows zooming, exact date selection and display of minimum and maximum values for a measurement. New printing functions allow to print reports for all data, including animals and plants with image. Export as PDF-document is also possible.
